Community Initiatives

EPIC is a part of our community! We host special community initiatives designed to energize our neighbors and provide an opportunity for fellowship and celebration. Community initiatives include:

  • Ancient City Kids Day. – Held in conjunction with National Red Ribbon Week (substance use disorders prevention) and Make a Difference Day in October, this event is a free, fun day for families to spend quality time together.
  • Parent to Parent - a free parenting program designed to keep healthy families healthy.
  • PACT Prevention Coalition of St. Johns County – A partnership of agencies throughout the county, PACT provides networking and bridge-building with the common goal of substance use disorders prevention. EPIC serves as a member of the Coalition and as its Fiscal Agent.
  • Weed and Seed – This Department of Justice Initiative is designed to address violent crimes, drug use and drug trafficking in neighborhoods hardest hit by violence and eroding social and economic stability. The West Augustine community has been officially recognized as a Weed and Seed site. Activities in our Weed and Seed site will include addressing the impact of violent crime, providing prevention, intervention and treatment services for substance use disorders and other social problems, and revitalizing its community through housing and economic development. EPIC currently serves as the Site Coordinator on behalf of the West Augustine residents.
